Linga is a modern, bright and well-appointed one bedroom apartment.

The property is located in the beautiful coastal area of Fladdabister & Ocraquoy on the South Mainland of Shetland and is situated in a building adjacent to the owners house with excellent seaviews over the Bay of Ocraquoy and towards the island of Bressay. A relaxing and peaceful place, ideal for hill & coastal walks, bird-watching, sea and trout fishing. Take the 2 minute stroll down to the shore below and you can witness the true essence of Shetland’s nature and wildlife with seals, otters, porpoises and of course the many birds of moor and sea!

Overall an immaculately clean & comfortable self-catering unit ideally suited to couples.

This property is furnished to the highest standards and has been tastefully decorated throughout. We take a great pride in maintaining high standards and Linga has consistently achieved a high 4 Star rating from the Scottish Tourist Office.

We have made optimum use of space by designing an open-plan living-room & kitchen area with plenty of windows from which to admire the beautiful sea-views!

On the ground floor is a modern, fully-tiled bathroom complete with a power shower, WC, washbasin, under-floor heating and an electric towel rail.

The pine staircase leads up to a bright, modern kitchen which comes complete with breakfast bar, an electric cooker, washing machine, refridgerator, microwave, kettle & toaster, and quality Denby crockery.

The living room is furnished with a comfortable leather sofa & chairs, digital TV, Video & DVD player and Hifi system. Heating is provided through storage heaters. We also provide a selection of interesting books, games, DVDs and Videos.

Upstairs there is also a double bedroom with pine bed, wardrobe, dressing-table & mirror, and electric panel heater.

All bedlinen, towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board are supplied.

Outdoors there is a garden area with rotary dryer and ample space for car parking.

What’s nearby

This property has the most perfect location for exploring the whole of Shetland.

Situated on Shetland’s South Mainland in the coastal area of Fladdabister & Ocraquoy. A five minute road walk takes you into the small village of Cunningsburgh where you will find a shop; petrol station; village hall serving Sunday Teas (Summer months); knitwear shops; and a marina and small boat harbour.

Five miles further South takes you to the village of Sandwick which offers a shop, Post Office & bakery; hotel; visitor centre; modern swimming pool and playground; and ferry transport across to the island of “Mousa” with it’s amazing ancient Broch.

A short drive further South takes you to the beautiful sandy beaches of Levenwick & St Ninians Isle in Bigton, the Sumburgh Head Nature Reserve, the ancient settlement of “Jarlshof” and the excavations at Scatness to name but a few!

Lerwick is an easy 10 minute drive North with all the activities and amenities you would expect from such a vibrant Capital.

And remember, it’s less than an hour’s drive from here to the most northerly tip of Shetland and from where small inter-island ferries can take you to the North Isles of Yell, Unst, Fetlar and Skerries for the day!

Directions

From Lerwick head for the main A970 south towards Sumburgh. Stay on the A970 passing Gulberwick & Quarff, then take the next left to Fladdabister. Follow the lane through Fladdabister and as you go up the hill we are situated on the left-hand side – a wooden house called “Blaisdon” with double garage and red roof surrounded by a dry stone wall and brown wooden fence.

From Sumburgh Airport follow the main A970 towards Lerwick, passing Levenwick, Sandwick & Cunningsburgh. Upon exiting Cunningsburgh you will pass the Cunningsburgh Hall on your left – take the next right to Fladdabister/Aithsetter and turn immediately left to Fladdabister/Ocraquoy and follow the lane until you come to the wooden house called “Blaisdon” on your right with red roof, double garage and surrounding dry stone wall and brown wooden fence.

Keys can be collected from the main house, “Blaisdon”.

Check-in time: 2pm onwards.
Check-out time: 10am.
Changeover day: Saturday (during peak season).
