Welcome to Waters Edge: Luxury Self Catering Accommodation in Brae, Shetland.
Stunning, modern shore-side holiday lodge situated in a peaceful setting right on the shorefront of Busta Voe, yet within easy strolling distance of all the amenities Brae has to offer including pubs, restaurants, take-aways, hotels, garage & shop, supermarket, health centre, hairdressers & leisure centre.
This 3 bedroom holiday cottage has the perfect coastal location with a lovely shingle beach at the bottom of the garden where you can admire the evening sunsets whilst taking in the beauty of Shetlands amazing wildlife. The location of this self-catering Shetland property makes it an ideal base for exploring all the northern areas of Shetland as well as the Northern Isles of Yell, Unst, Fetlar and the Skerries etc. In the opposite direction it’s only a 25 minute drive to Shetland’s Capital town of Lerwick.

“Waters Edge” is an immaculately presented holiday home which has been finished to a very high standard with the discerning visitor in mind.
There is a large, spacious open-plan kitchen/dining & living room spanning a large part of the front of the house overlooking the sea and large windows ensure the amazing seaviews can be maximised.The living room has a quality leather corner sofa & swivel chair with stool, Sony 50” LED Smart TV, DVD player and HiFi system.
The carefully planned kitchen, again with amazing seaviews over the garden and shore below, comprises beautiful solid oak fitted units and comes complete with fully integrated dishwasher, double oven, tall fitted fridge freezer, microwave and a good supply of quality crockery,cutlery & kitchen utensils.
There are 3 bedrooms – 2 kingsize bedrooms both with TVs and one with an adjoining ensuite shower-room and an extra room which can be used either as a third bedroom or alternatively as a workspace as it has a large desk and good seaviews giving plenty of light.
The main bathroom comprises 2 washbasins, curved bath with overhead mains power shower and heated towel rail.
A small utility room houses the washing machine and separate tumble drier plus iron & ironing board. Heating is supplied by way of electric storage heaters and electric panel heaters.
There is a private parking area for up to 2 vehicles at the entrance to the property and a large garden front and back with easy access to the shore below and shingle beach at the bottom of the garden.
Situated just 25 miles north of Shetlands Capital, Lerwick, Brae is Shetland’s second largest village and offers a good range of facilities, including pubs, hotels, shops, leisure centre (with swimming pool & fitness gym), & various eateries.
The area surrounding Brae is diverse with many unspoilt natural attractions, wonderful wildlife & places of interest.
Stunning views and dramatic coastal walks abound in nearby areas such as North Mavine, Muckle Roe, Eshaness and Ronas Hill to name but a few.
The property is also perfectly positioned for easy access to Shetland’s most northerly isles – Yell & Unst – again, rich in wildlife, birdlife and other places of interest.
So if you want to explore as much of Shetland as possible whilst still having local amenities on hand, then Waters Edge provides the perfect base from which to enjoy the natural beauty of Shetland.
Directions to Waters Edge, 4 Vistavird, Brae, Shetland ZE2 9SL
From Northlink Ferry Terminal, Lerwick (25 mins). Turn right onto the A970 north for 23 miles. When entering Brae continue towards the Brae Garage and Brae Hotel then take the left turning into Vistavird (just before Frankies Fish & Chip Shop). Follow the road down into the cul-de-sac and turn right at the bottom where you will find the parking area and entrance to “Waters Edge”.
From Sumburgh Airport (50 mins). Turn right onto the A970 north for 22 miles. Turn left onto the B9073 just before Lerwick. Turn right onto the A970 for 1 mile. Turn left (North) at the T junction onto the A970 for 20 miles. When entering Brae continue towards the Brae Garage and Hotel then take the left turning into Vistavird (just before Frankies Fish & Chip shop). Follow the road down into the cul-de-sac and turn right at the bottom where you will find the parking area and entrance to “Waters Edge”.
Terms & Conditions of Hire
Stays in Waters Edge must be for a minimum of 4 nights during the low season (October to March) and a minimum of 7 nights during the Spring and Summer months with changeover day every Friday during the peak Summer months.
Prices range from £100 - £180 per night depending on the time of year and number of guests. The property sleeps up to 5 people in 2 kingsize and 1 single room.
Sorry but no pets are allowed and no smoking inside the premises.
A 50% non-refundable deposit will be payable immediately upon booking with the remaining balance due approximately 8-12 weeks prior to arrival. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday/travel insurance to cover any unexpected late cancellation.
