This quality Lerwick rental property “Hjaltland” is a newly refurbished bright & airy top floor (first floor) apartment situated in a spacious residential cul-de-sac with easy off-road parking. This high quality self-catering apartment is ideally located as it is very close to the town centre – just a 4 minute walk away – but it is situated in a particularly quiet and picturesque part of Lerwick with outstanding views to the South-West over Breiwick Sound and adjoins a small 9 hole golf course which sweeps along the spectacular Lerwick coastline.
With town and country on your doorstep it is the perfect retreat for both tourist and business visitors alike.
This well-equipped luxury holiday accommodation in Lerwick has been refurbished in 2015 and now boasts a brand new kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms all decorated to the very highest of standards.
There is an open-plan living/dining room with quality leather sofas, flatscreen LCD TV with Freeview channels, DVD player and Hifi system. The lounge and dining area both have amazing seaviews either Southwards over the golf course and the beautiful Breiwick Bay as well as Northwards over Lerwick and out towards the North mouth of the harbour.

A carefully planned kitchen with beautiful solid oak fitted units and black satin worktops comes complete with fully integrated dishwasher, double oven, washer/dryer, microwave and large fridge/freezer as well as a quality range of crockery and cutlery – a joy in which to self-cater!
There are 2 double bedrooms with quality solid oak furniture, large fitted wardrobes, quality wool carpets and LCD TV with freeview channels.
The luxurious bathroom comprises WC, washbasin, curved bath with overhead mains power MIRA shower and heated towel rail.
Heating is supplied by way of storage heaters and electric panel heaters.
All bedlinen, towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board are supplied.
We also provide a good selection of interesting books, games, maps and DVDS for visitors use.
Outdoors there is a shared garden and washing-line (with the apartment below), however, a small flight of steps just outside the front door leads onto open grassland which slopes down to the spectacular Lerwick coastline where wildlife and birdlife are in abundance.
There is plenty of allocated parking outside the small apartment block and across the road.
Open throughout the year for short or longer term lets (serviced lets by arrangement). The minimum stay is 4 nights with prices ranging from £70 - £110 per night depending on the time of year and number of people.
If you want to explore as much of Shetland as possible but also want to be close to all the amenities of a vibrant town, then Hjaltland provides the perfect mix of town and country.
The house is located near the top of a gently sloping hill and adjoins a 9 hole golf course which is free to the public. A 2 minute walk and you reach the spectacular coastline with it’s abundant wildlife and birdlife and a 4 minute walk down the hill takes you directly to the main town centre and harbour front. There are various amenities such as shops, bars, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance and a short stroll takes you to the museum, library, Bowling Green and Flower Park and various other places of interest. The beautiful Sands of Sound Beach and the ancient Clickimin Broch are a 25 minute walk away, as is the superb Clickimin Leisure Complex which has an excellent swimming pool, squash courts, indoor bowling green and state-of-the-art gymnasium.

From Lerwick Ferry Terminal turn left onto the main road and follow the coastal road into the main town centre and as you pass the main harbour front and head up the hill you will reach a small roundabout at the top of the hill near a large Kirk. Take the second exit which is the road straight ahead of you and head up the hill a short distance and take the second right turning just past the Glen Orchy Guest House into Hjaltland Place. No 8 Hjaltland Place is situated on the left hand side of the road with a red door.
From Sumburgh Airport follow the main A970 to Lerwick. Upon descending the hill into Lerwick on the main South Road, keep straight ahead over the 2 small roundabouts heading into the centre of Lerwick. When you reach the small roundabout near the big Kirk and car parking area take the third exit onto Knab Road. As you drive up the slight hill Hjaltland Place is the second turning on your right just past the Glen Orchy Guest House. No 8 Hjlatland Place is situated on the left hand side of the road with a red door.

Changeover Day: Fridays or Saturdays during the peak Summer months.
Bookings can be made for as little as 4 nights during the winter months and for a minimum of one week during the summer months.
Terms & Conditions of Hire
Stays in Hjaltland must be for a minimum of 4 nights during the low season (October to March) and a minimum of 7 nights during the Spring and Summer months with changeover day every Friday/Saturday during the peak Summer months.
The property sleeps up to 4 people in two double bedrooms.
Sorry but no pets are allowed and no smoking inside the premises.
A 50% non-refundable deposit will be payable immediately upon booking with the remaining balance due 8-12 weeks prior to arrival. We strongly recommend that you take out holiday/travel insurance to cover any unexpected late cancellation.
